Visa For India

All travelers must have a visa for India.

You must obtain the Indian visa before you arrive in India.

Since 2014 India’s Immigration Department has outsourced the visa process. If you are in the U.S. you must obtain your visa from Cox & Kings Global Services. In Canada the company is BLS International.

Items to Submit with Your Indian Visa Application

  • Your Passport (valid for at least 1 month more than the visa date)
  • Visa application form (online only)
  • One (1) Recent Passport Photograph
  • Visa Fee (cash, postal order or bankers draft only)
  • Self addressed, pre-paid envelope

Obtain a Indian Visa Before Arrival in India

You start the process by applying online with Cox & Kings Global Services

Apply for the Indian visa four (4) weeks before you leave for India.

Obtain the Employment Visa for India” (not a Tourist Visa or Missionary Visa).

You must include a letter from our partner organization in India on letterhead indicating the nature and the duration of the visit and place of work. We will obtain this letter for you after you sign-up and pay the deposit.

After filling out the application forms on the website of Cox & Kings Global Services, then print and submit by post (or in-person) to the nearest Indian Embassy your application and your actual passport (not a photocopy).

If applying by post, use a service that has tracking numbers like FedEx.

The Indian embassy will return your passport to you by post using the self-address, postage-paid envelope you included in your visa submission. The Indian visa sticker will be inside your passport.
