Stacey-Leigh Williams: Volunteers at Orphanage in Chennai, India

Australian Stacey Leigh-Williams recently volunteered at an orphanage in India for one week.

A mother of four sons who lives in New South Wales in Australia, Stacey thoroughly enjoyed the chance to spend quality time with the children at the orphanage in Chennai, India.

On the last day of her volunteer program in India, Stacey took the children at the orphanage on a day-trip to Marina Beach, along with a fellow volunteer who was also staying at the orphanage. (Marina Beach is India’s longest beach and one of the longest in all of Asia).

Back in Australia, Stacey works as a support worker for adults with intellectual disabilities.

She wrote to us after her return to Australia:

Just wanting to thank you for one of the best experiences of my life. It was everything I had expected and more. My Program Coordinator was wonderful and went out of her way to make my stay enjoyable. Once again, thank you for the opportunity to volunteer through your organization. I know this will definitely not be the last.
