Through our orphanage volunteering program in Vietnam, you will primarily assist the staff at the orphanage with English and basic math classes. You would also be free to do things like play games, arts & crafts, music, dance, and organize sports as well.
You can also help the kids with homework, play sports, take them down the road for walks, and generally just get to know and care for them. Volunteers are also welcome to organize some daytrips on Sundays and holidays for the children.
Unlike with most of our other programs, the program fee does not include accommodations and meals.
For accommodations, volunteers typically stay at hotels or hostels which are usually within walking distance to the orphanages. In Ho Chi Minh the location is District 1 in Ho Chi Minh. You are free to book your own accommodations before arriving in Vietnam. We can also help you with booking a room. The accommodations range from US$5 to $30 per night.
For meals, you would pay your own way at restaurants. There are plenty of very inexpensive ones, with Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, and western food. A typical meal is US$2-$3.

Requirements: Age 16+
Length of Stay: 1 week minimum. 3 months maximum.
Schedule: Volunteer Monday – Friday 8am to 4pm. Weekends free-time.
Accommodations:
Volunteers stay at guest houses, hostels, or hotels and are responsible for all of their meals. There is a range of accommodations, from $3/night backpacker hostels to mid-range $10/night hotels, to higher-end hotels from $50+/night. We assist you with choosing your accommodations before you arrive in Vietnam.
Meals:
For meals, volunteers eat at Vietnamese restaurants serving cheap and delicious and cheap (a hearty lunch can cost $1). There are also fast-food places and western pubs in our volunteer areas. Depending on your accommodations, you can also self-cater.
