Visas and Passports

Passports
You must have a passport which is valid for at least six months after your return to your home country. Contact the government passport office in your home country for information on how to obtain a passport. The process typically takes 4-6 weeks in most countries.

China (top)
You must have a visa to enter the country. You will need to obtain your visa before leaving home from a Chinese embassy or consulate in your own country. You must contact us before beginning your visa process, due to the different visa requirements per your country of citizenship. For stays of 3 months or less, you will only need a "tourist" visa. For more than 3 months, you will need an "English-teaching visa approval document" from our partner in China. We will assist you with each type of visa.

Ecuador (top)
You do not need a visa for stays of 90 days or less. For stays longer than 90 days: You enter Ecuador without a visa, then we will assist you with obtaining your visa before the end of your first 90 days. You can stay a total of 180 days in Ecuador. Visas can be obtained for a small fee in Quito, Ecuador at Isla Seymour 1152 and Río Coca (Mon-Fri 8-noon and 3-5pm).

Ghana (top)
You must have a visa to enter the country. You will need to obtain your visa before leaving home from a Ghanaian embassy or consulate in your own country.

India (top)
You must have a visa to enter the country. You will need to obtain your visa before leaving home from a Indian embassy or consulate in your own country.

Kenya (top)
You must have a visa to enter the country. You can obtain the visa upon arrival at the airport in Nairobi OR you can obtain your visa before leaving home from a Kenyan embassy or consulate in your own country.

Nepal (top)
You must have a visa to enter the country. You can obtain the visa upon arrival at the airport in Kathmandu OR you can obtain your visa before leaving home from a Nepali embassy or consulate in your own country.

Peru (top)
You do not need a visa for stays of 90 days or less. For longer stays, you will enter Peru without a visa, then we will assist you with obtaining your visa while in Peru.

Philippines (top)
You do not need a visa for a stay of twenty-one (21) days or less. For longer stays, you must obtain your visa before leaving home from a Philippines embassy or consulate in your own country.

Thailand (top)
For stays of thirty (30) days or less, you will be given a visa upon arrival in Thailand. For longer stays, you must obtain your visa before leaving home from a Thai embassy or consulate in your own country. You will need an invitation letter from Cosmic Volunteers.

Vietnam (top)
You must have a visa to enter the country. You will need to obtain your visa before leaving home from a Vietnamese embassy or consulate in your own country.
