Teaching English to Monks, Buddhist Priests and Catholic Nuns in Vietnam

This wonderful new program, begun in early 2010, allows our volunteers to teach conversational English to Vietnamese Buddhist monks & priests and Catholic student-nuns & Brothers.

They are originally from remote hill towns in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, from the Kontum and Da Lac Provinces. They are in Ho Chi Minh to attend university. After university classes in the morning, they are free to work with our volunteers in the afternoons.

The critical part of this program is that while they are good with written English, they do get the chance regularly to practice conversational practice with native speakers of English as many of our volunteers are.

This program is ideal for volunteers who perhaps wish to split time between working at a children's shelter / orphanage in the mornings, then spending their afternoons with the Conversational English program.
