Cosmic Volunteers follows
the current recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC). We have provided a summary below of
the CDC's recommendations based on the host country.
Participants in our programs are solely responsible for receiving
immunizations. We strongly recommend that you visit
a local travel health clinic at least two months before you
arrive in the host country, because some vaccinations
require several weeks to take effect.
The only host country that requires a vaccination
is Ghana, which requires a Yellow Fever vaccination.
All other vaccinations are optional for our other host countries.
You should carry with you a record of your vaccinations.
The most widely recognized document for this purpose is the
World Health Organization's "Yellow
Card" booklet which is available from most doctors
and health centers. All vaccinations should be recorded in
this booklet. Carry this document with your passport. Note
that for Ghana this document is required and may be requested
by their immigration staff at the airport.
