Scott Burke, Founder & Director
Thank you for visiting Cosmic Volunteers' website!
I started Cosmic Volunteers after volunteering for
three months as a teacher in rural Nepal in 2000. It was my first
trip outside the US, a real eye-opener in so many ways.
The trip moved me so much that I decided to help
others have the same wonderful experience that I had.
Since that Nepal trip, I've visited most of the
countries where we now offer programs. I've met with local coordinators,
visited project sites, stayed with our host families, and done
lots of volunteer work myself, all the while gathering as much
firsthand knowledge as possible about the cultures and living
experiences for our future volunteers.
I hope you can join one of my programs abroad someday and have your
own great experience. One of the most rewarding aspects of our
work is hearing from volunteers after they return home, telling
us what an incredible experience they had with our programs and
the fact that they cannot wait to go abroad again.
