Our Volunteer Programs

Summer 2-Week Programs
Spend two weeks volunteering with children and working on environment/building projects through our Summer 2-Week Programs. Our summer 2009 trips are taking place in Ghana, Guatemala, India, Kenya, and Vietnam.

Orphanages
Work with children in group orphanages and homes. Volunteer work typically involves playing games, arts & crafts, sports, and teaching English. Available in Ecuador, Ghana, India, Kenya, Peru, Nepal, Philippines, Vietnam. You also volunter at a Single Mother's Home in Thailand and with Social Work with Children programs.

Teaching
Teach English and other subjects at primary schools. No teaching certificate is required, but native English speakers are preferred. Available in China, Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Nepal, Peru, the Philippines, Thailand, and Uganda.

Healthcare
Hands-on work at medical clinics and hospitals. Volunteers must be medical/nursing students or healthcare professionals. Available in Ecuador, Ghana, India, Kenya, Nepal, Peru, the Philippines, and Uganda.

HIV/AIDS
Advocacy work and clinical work with patients, families, and the larger community. Available in Ghana, India, and Kenya.

Community Development
A variety of volunteer work at local organizations that support women, children, and micro-enterprises. Available in Ghana and India.

Sports
Coach football (soccer) or help organize a new basketball league in Ghana. Run a Marathon in India.

Journalism
Intern at Spanish-language daily newspapers and television stations in the capital city Quito. Available in Ecuador. We also have journalism internships in Ghana.

Environment & Conservation
Volunteer at a wildlife hospital in Kenya, at animal rescue centers in Ecuador, with tortoises on the Galapagos Islands, at veterinary clinics in Ghana, at an ecological park or with environmental education in Guatemala, and on farms in India. You can also work at an elephant camp in Thailand, an animal sanctuary in Thailand and public parks in Thailand. Our newest program is at an animal sanctuary in South Africa.

Community Kitchens
Volunteer at a community kitchen in Peru, helping the staff serve meals to families in Lima.

Cultural Tours
Accompanied travel to significant cultural and historical sites, language training, and homestays with local families. Available in China, Ecuador, and India: 1 Week, 4 Weeks.
