Cosmic Establishes Volunteer Programs in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH, VIETNAM September 26, 2005 -- Cosmic Volunteers has established volunteer programs in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Vietnam is the first country in the mainland of Southeast Asia where Cosmic Volunteers will send volunteers.

Cosmic Volunteers' President Scott Burke was in Ho Chi Minh City last week to meet with partners and visit several orphanages where volunteers will work.

"We're excited about Vietnam for our volunteers," said Scott. "Many people only think of war when it comes to Vietnam, but visitors here quickly realize that the Vietnamese people are looking to the future, not the past."

During their stays in Vietnam, volunteers will be immersed in the culture and bustling street life ofVietnam, with its open-air markets, ubiquitous noodle shops, and thousands of motorbikes buzzing through the crowded streets.

The main program available now is orphanage volunteering in Ho Chi Minh. Later in 2006, there will also be programs available in the remote Central Highlands of Vietnam.
