Teaching in Mumbai, India

Volunteer with one of several grassroots organizations focusing on education of slum children in a vibrant urban environment -- OR -- For proactive teachers, work in the under-funded and understaffed municipal schools.

We have programs with several grassroots organizations that deal directly with children from the slums. These programs focus on teaching children English and math skills. The children you will work with in these programs also go to municipal school, but come to these programs before/after school to receive additional help. You can work with children from ages 5 years to 16 years old.

We also have programs for the proactive, teaching English in Municipal schools. The municipal school placements require you to be creative, innovative, and strong willed as they lack basic resources from the administration.
