Cultural Tour and Language Study in Ecuador

This program lasts for one week and immerses you in the language and culture of Ecuador. You will be based in the capitol city Quito, where you will stay with a local Ecuadorian family, take 20 hours of 1-on-1 Spanish lessons, take daytrips to important cultural and historical sites, and even learn how to salsa.

Spanish Study
Our school has numerous classrooms, as well as a fully stocked workshop room with lots of learning materials like videos, books, and a computer. There is also a full kitchen where participants learn about the traditional dishes of Ecuador, and even get the chance to prepare a few meals themselves. Most participants live within walking distance to the school from their host families. Our professional language instructors have been personally trained by the president of our partner organization. In addition to her native Spanish, she is fluent in German, English, French, and Italian, and has years of experience in the best techniques and approaches for learning new languages.

Homestays
You'll stay with a middle-class Ecuadorian family who will provide you with all meals, a private room, laundry service (usually), and inclusion in regular family activities. It's a unique opportunity to gain real insights into Ecuadorian culture, practice your Spanish, and make some lifelong friendships. Homestay accommodation is not mandatory. Some volunteers prefer to stay in a private apartment or hotel which can be arranged upon request.

Participants
Our participants come from dozens of countries around the globe. They range in their level of Spanish ability from beginners to fluent speakers looking to study advanced aspects of the language. Minimum age is 16, and there is no maximum age.
