Orphanage Volunteering in Cambodia

Our orphanage volunteer program in Cambodia places volunteers at orphanages and children's shelters in Phnom Penh and Siem reap.

Volunteers assist the Cambodian staff at the orphanage with teaching English and basic math classes for the children.

Depending on a volunteer's skills and interests, there is also the opportunity to assist with activities like playing games, arts & crafts, music, dance, and organizing sports as well.

Another facet of the experience can also involve helping the orphanage director on fundraising efforts, including writing proposals, writing press releases, contacting foundations, providing content for their websites, and helping to organize the office operations.

For accommodations, volunteers have the option of staying with a local Cambodian host family or at a hotel / guesthouse. With a host family, volunteers receive all meals and their own room.

When staying at a hotel, the meals are self-catering with volunteers eating at restaurants and/or making basic meals in their room.

A typical local meal is $1-$3 USD. Budget hotels range from $8 USD to $25 USD per night. For self-catering stays, the program fee is discounted 30 percent.
