Volunteer at an Ecological Park in Bolivia
One of our most exciting and rewarding placements for volunteering with wildlife is at the Yvaga Guazú ("Grand Paradise") Ecological Park in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
The 35-acre park is home to over 600 species of plants from Bolivia, India, Thailand, and other countries. There are also over 30 species of birds and mammals including butterflies, deer, iguanas, monkeys, boars, toucans, parrots, sloths, with some in cages and others with free range in the park.
The areas of volunteer work include:
• Animal care
• Care and maintenance of plants and visitor’s areas
• Environmental education
• Study of wild fauna
• Reproduction of plants and trees
The permanent staff of 30+ warmly welcome the efforts of foreign volunteers. The main requirements are a love of plants and animals, as well as at least beginner's Spanish.
Groups of up to 15 are easily accommodated for this program.
