Health Care / Medical Volunteering in Bolivia
Our medical volunteers in Bolivia work at a non-profit health center that provides free care to under-served patients. The clinic treats 70-100 patients daily, with several doctors and nurses at the clinic daily. The clinic has departments for pediatrics, gynecology, and general outpatient care.
Depending on their background and experience, volunteers can get involved in hands-on care of patients.
Volunteers must be studying or practicing in the healthcare field,
as doctors, nurses, EMT's, and medical and nursing students with
clinical experience. We do not accept pre-med students into the
program.
Volunteers must also have at least intermediate Spanish, with the skills to function in a Spanish-only environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in
your field in a different culture where practices may differ considerably
to what you're used to.
